REX BURKHOLDER // STRATEGY and MESSAGE

Rex Burkholder founded two successful Portland non-profit organizations-the Bicycle Transportation Alliance and the Coalition for a Livable Future. Elected to the Metro Council, he served three terms. His book, The Activist’s Toolkit (2017), is highly praised for its creative approach to leadership, helping many around the world be more effective community activists. As a volunteer, Rex founded the Oregon Outdoor Education Coalition in 2014 and led the successful campaign to dedicate $30 million annually for Outdoor School statewide in Oregon. In 2021, he led the successful Outdoor School for All effort in Washington State. Rex provides strategic advice to non-profit organizations, coaching to civic leaders, advises political campaigns, and leads volunteer restoration crews in local parks.

Gavin has over 25 years of professional experience in branding, production, strategic engagement, and visual language direction - from local projects to national and international campaigns. He started his career in public relations and has worked to help clients in retail, the sciences, the food industry, insurance, healthcare, and government before becoming part of We Win/Oxalis. Gavin helps clients clarify their image message, identify their target audience, and communicate that image message using the audience's language and tools. Gavin helps clients effectively communicate with desired audiences across all platforms by researching the audience's shared values, trust metrics, obstacles, and communication patterns.

CASEY LEITH // ART DIRECTOR

Casey joined We Win/Oxalis in after moving to Bend in early 2020, and managed Phil Chang's successful campaign for Deschutes County Commissioner. Casey does digital communication, videography, and design work for The Oxalis Group. Outside of designing social media campaigns and website pages, Casey enjoys playing soccer, skiing, and spending time outdoors with her dog in Central Oregon.

CAROLINE FITCHETT // FOUNDER & EMERITUS PARTNER

Caroline’s work has shaped historical changes on issues ranging from climate change and education to healthcare and civil rights. With over 20 years of experience rooted in community organizing, Fitchett has run dozens of local candidate and ballot measure campaigns, legislative campaigns, and statewide ballot measures. She ran Obama’s New Mexico GOTV Campaign in 2012. Caroline is renowned for her political savvy and strategy expertise. Her commitment to social justice includes leading advocacy efforts, coalition development, and raising top political dollars. Caroline is now the Executive Director of the Salmonberry Trail Foundation and can be reached here.
